Shemas and memory consolidation

The incorporation (or assimilation) of new information into the relevant neocortical schemas via systems memory consolidation, has been shown to be a much faster process, than initially believed (Tse, Takeuchi et al., Science, 2011).

In our team, we aim to secure definitive information about the neocortical networks and neuromodulation involved in the assimilation of new memory into the relevant neocortical schemas. Understanding the circuit- and molecular-mechanisms of assimilation of new memories in the backdrop of relevant schema may lead to the development of efficient educational methods.
