Memory selectivity and knowledge updating

Knowledge plays a central role in human life. Indeed, we are who we are largely because of what we learn and what we remember. The Takeuchi lab is focused on the overall goal to elucidate our knowledge on how memories of events and facts are initially processed in the hippocampus and subsequently stored as long-term memory in the neocortex.
